Hello, I'm Rafa

My mission is simple: help others build strong bodies, confident minds, and sustainable lifestyles—no matter where they start.

My Story

Born and raised in the vibrant coastal city of Maceió, I grew up surrounded by sun, surf, and a culture rooted in natural, wholesome living. In Brazil, meals were built around fresh fish, vegetables, and minimally processed foods—habits that shaped my lifelong belief that fitness begins in the kitchen and is sustained through intentional living. Health and movement were never trends in my life; they were simply the way I was raised.

In 2016, I made the bold decision to move to the United States, embracing a new chapter filled with both challenge and opportunity. Just four years later, I proudly became a U.S. citizen in 2020—a milestone that reflects my resilience, courage, and commitment to building a new life while honoring my roots.

Before stepping fully into the fitness world, I built a successful career in banking. Yet even during those years, health and nutrition remained central to my identity. In 2011, I followed my passion and became a certified personal trainer, eventually earning my NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Nutrition Coach credentials through National Academy of Sports Medicine. My transition from banker to trainer was not just a career change—it was a calling.

My dedication to discipline and excellence culminated in a defining achievement: winning Overall Bikini Champion at the 2021 NPC Baltimore Classic, sanctioned by the National Physique Committee. This victory was more than a title—it represented years of commitment, sacrifice, and belief in the power of structured training and nutrition.

Today, I live in Columbia, where I continue to coach and inspire clients from all walks of life. As a mother and grandmother (yes, I’m a grandmother), I bring empathy, wisdom, and perspective to my coaching style. I understand the demands of family, career, and personal goals—and design programs that are sustainable, realistic, and empowering.

My Brazilian heritage continues to influence my philosophy. I believe in real food, balanced nutrition, strong foundations, and building confidence from the inside out. My sister’s well-known Brazilian restaurant in Damascus, Maryland, is another reminder that food is culture, connection, and celebration—not restriction.

While I still love the warmth of the beach, I’m embracing new adventures—currently learning to snowboard as I continue pushing myself beyond comfort zones. That adventurous spirit defines both my personal journey and my approach to fitness: growth happens when you challenge yourself.

For me, fitness is not about extremes. It’s about discipline with joy, structure with flexibility, and strength with grace. Whether guiding competitive athletes, busy professionals/executives, mothers reclaiming their health, 3-letter government law enforcement agents, or clients pursuing their first fitness milestone, I bring authenticity, experience, and proven results.
